Heather Wood, PhD

Heather Wood is an English Faculty Member at Dallas College, North Lake Campus. She teaches First-Year Writing and American Literature in traditional, online, and hybrid modalities. Professor Wood uses active learning principles to engage students in the classroom, sharing with them her passion for the written word. Previously, she served as Humanities Division Chair and English Program Coordinator at University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus. She earned her PhD from University of Texas at Dallas and has published widely with recent work appearing in the Writer's Garret Poetry in Place Anthology. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, the arts, and yoga.
