Heather Wood, PhD

Heather Wood is an English Faculty Member at Dallas College, North Lake Campus. She teaches First-Year Writing and American Literature in traditional, online, and hybrid modalities. In the classroom, Professor Wood uses active learning principles to engage students, sharing with them her passion for the written word. She has taught all levels of college writing, including ESL, Developmental English, and Composition I & II. She earned her PhD from University of Texas at Dallas. Dr. Wood has published widely with recent poetry appearing in the Writer's Garret Poetry in Place Anthology. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, the arts, and yoga.
